According to a report in the New India Express, the 2 KW solar panels installed 2 years back has generated almost 6,000 KW of energy till now.

The mono-crystalline solar panels installed at a cost of Rs 4.5 Lakh have met almost 77 per cent of the police station's own requirements.

The project, funded by the Indian Chamber of Commerce Nagapattinam unit, usually gather Solar rays from 7 am to 6 pm on an average. Even after sunset, the energy generated by cells, and stored, is used to power the station which has more than 15 tubes and 15 fans.
