Arnab Goswami is journalist? I'm ashamed to be from same sector: Barkha Dutt

Senior journalist Barkha Dutt has launched an all-out assault against its editor-in-chief and Times Now, Arnab Goswami, for purportedly calling to gag media in India.

Taking to Facebook, Barkha, a former colleague of Arnab in NDTV, said, for gagging for journalists to be tried &punished “ Times Now calls. Is this guy a journalist? I will be ashamed to be from an industry that is same as him. What’s striking is hypocrisy that is cowardly and his brazen. So he drones on and on about Pro-Pakistan Doves without one word on the JK alliance deal that commits the BJP and PDP to talks with Pakistan and Hurriyat and is quiet on Modi’s own Pakistan outreach- neither of which I object to- but since Arnab Goswami measures patriotism by such views why is he so quiet on the government? Chamchagiri?

“Imagine, a journalist exhorts the authorities calls for them to be tried, misrepresented them as terror sympathizers and isi agents and acted against. And our fraternity remains locked into the silence that is timid and politically correct. I hope I'll always be someone whose journalism you loathe, because trust me, the feeling is so perfectly reciprocal that it would kill me to be on the same side of any issue as you.”

Arnab, frequently accused of towing rightwing plan through his channel, had held a discussion on the ongoing unrest in Kashmir on Tuesday night. He had launched a provocative hashtag.

The #ProPakDovesSilent argument on Times had prompted many right wing social media users to demand killings of a section of journalists, who they accused of being pro-Pakistanis as a result of their disagreement with the Indian government policies.
