67 million trees were planted by millions of people in a span of 12 hours

The world talks of global warming & climate change, but Madhya Pradesh has taken a concrete step to deal with it.

More than 67 million trees were planted by huge numbers of people within a span of 11-12 hours in Indian State of Madhya Pradesh, putting a fresh Guinness reforestation record. Over 1.5 million people from all walks of life, ranging from students and housewives to government officials, who planted a whole of 6,67,50,000 tree saplings in just 1-2 hours. An overall total of 24 areas of Narmada river basin was also identified to your plantation. Meanwhile, the saplings comprised two-dozen types of plants sourced from nurseries around the nation.

The list of planting max saplings was earlier in the day held by Uttar Pradeshand another Indian country, which planted nearly 50 million trees within a length of 24 hours in July 2016.
